When we feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or angry we aren’t rooted in the earth’s power. We feel that way cause other energies around us are able to distract or stress us out easier. Being grounded also balances the root chakra. Grounding is essential for health and well-being. It allows a positive flow of electrons from Earth to nurture your mental, physical and emotional bodies. Grounding also keeps you present in the moment.

Grounding Visualization

Crystals can do a lot of the work for you when it comes to centering your energy, but to make sure your in tune with a peaceful frequency, try this simple grounding exercise.


1. Sit in a quiet place of peace, outside in nature if you’d like to

2. Visualize roots sprouting from the soles of your feet, connecting to the core of the earth. Bringing all of your weight to Mother Gaia.

3. Take deep breaths in through your mouth and out through your nose

4. Visualize all of the negativity, anxiety, and stress flowing from you and returning back to the Earth.

5. Finally, visualize green healing light coming back up from the roots through the soles of your feet, traveling through your legs, all the way to your heart. Filling you with pure, healing energy.

Science Behind Earthing


Although grounding is an under-researched topic, recent studies have shown various benefits for everyone. Grounding connects the body to the natural electrical properties of the earth. The electron-rich natural rhythms of sunlight, lightning, and the earth’s hydrologic cycle charge the earth with an unlimited supply of negative ions. When we humans are disconnected from the earth, our bioelectric potential and immune system go deficient. This happens more rapidly with exposure to man-made electromagnetic frequencies (cell phones, wifi, refrigerator, smart meter etc.) as this man made form of EMF affects tissue repair processes and disturbs immune function through stimulation of various allergic and inflammatory responses. The most recent study showed improvement in both pain and mood, taking sixteen massage therapists who alternated between grounding and no grounding. Before grounding therapy, physical and emotional pain were common effects due to their physically demanding jobs. After the therapy, pain, stress, depression, and fatigue were all reduced among participants.


Earthing has also become an effective process for inflammation and heart disease. When electrons are stolen from healthy cells, due to a deficiency in free electrons, the immune system is then triggered: "oh there's more damage," and sends more neutrophils to help heal the newly damaged cells, and so begins a chain reaction. Silent, chronic inflammation that can continue for years. To prevent this inflammatory domino effect, it's easy: get grounded.


Earthing has been shown to increase the surface charge of red blood cells, thereby reducing blood viscosity and clumping. The red blood cells maintain separation as a result of their surface charge, allowing for a more orderly single-file flow into the capillaries. Grounding appears to be one of the simplest and yet most profound interventions for helping reduce risk of cardiovascular events. The circulatory benefits of earthing increase the health and recovery of our body's tissue by improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.

Alternative Ways To Ground


A simple grounding practice that anyone can do is using stainless steel spoons and rubbing the soles of your feet. Just like walking on the Earth helps to balance the body’s electric charge, this does a similar thing. The massaging also helps release stagnant energy that we carry in our feet.


When it comes to chakras most people immediately resort to grounding through their Root Chakra. The root will help ground you but for some people it’s not the most effective way. There is another chakra located 2 inches below your feet (Earth Star Chakra), rooting through this helps balance and unify your other chakras. When we only focus on our root it can cut off the earthy energy from getting to the rest of your body. The Earth Star chakra will help cycle that energy throughout your aura and physical body, which is needed on a day-to-day basis.
