Goldstones

Although these stones are man-made there is no doubt that they are magical! With their endless glitter and bright colors, these stones can do just as much healing work as any other stone out there. If your looking for a unique crystal that dives into ambition, drive, and positivity then goldstone is your girl! In this blog post I’m going to be explaining the different types of goldstones like Blue and Green goldstone as well.

History

Goldstone is a complex crystal, based on the name you’d assume its 1 a stone, or 2 made up of gold. Both of these are false! Goldstone is a man-made glass but that doesn’t take away from its beautiful energy! This crystal has gone by many names in its past such as, Aventurine Glass, Gold Star, and Monk’s Stone. While Goldstone is it’s most frequently used name because of its golden rich hues, there is also green goldstone, blue goldstone, and even brown goldstone. The origins of goldstone are a bit murky. It’s believed to be created by Italian Monks in the seventeenth century. However, there are records dating even further back. Whether it was in Iran in the twelfth century or by the Romans. Goldstone can be solidly traced to Venice and Vincenzo Miotti who was tasked by the head of state to create this beautiful glass.

Composition and Formation

Goldstone is glass that contains myriad of tiny angular crystals of copper. First made in Italy, goldstone forms by reduction of particles of copper oxide within the glass during a process called annealing. Nothing in nature looks quite like glittering goldstone. Made in three distinct colors (blue, green and orange), goldstone is a tough and durable material that can be made in large pieces and fashioned into slices and objects of almost any desired size and configuration.

For Blue goldstone its a little different, each color limited to the minerals used to fuse the metals together. Blue goldstone is achieved by substituting cobalt for copper. The resulting crystals have a more silvery appearance and are suspended in a strongly colored matrix of the corresponding ionic color, resulting in blue goldstone.

Originally Brown Goldstone was the only stone to be made, but by accident Blue Goldstone was created by adding Cobalt to the glass silica along with copper flecks!

Cleansing and Charging

Cleansing and Charging comes pretty easy with all types of goldstone because it’s glass. The easiest way in my opinion wold be moonlight or sunlight. Leaving your stone in sunlight for too long can cause your stone to fade a little so watch out for that! You can also place your stone on a slab of selenite or quartz. Water and salt should be okay for goldstone but I always recommend not leaving your stones in either of them for too long in order to avoid damage. Lastly, you can always cleanse and charge your goldstone with smoke (incense or sage), intention, temporarily bury it in the earth, or with sound vibrations (singing bowls or tuning forks).

How to Utilize Goldstone:

Wearing Goldstone

Goldstone is regarded as the objective gemstone, and it may assist you in achieving your objectives via dedication and perseverance. When Goldstone is worn, no objective is too large or too little. When you set your mind to something, Goldstone's qualities may undoubtedly make it a reality.

The gemstone can help you restore your trust if you're feeling burned out, worried, or as if you're pushing your hands into the limbs and had little to do with. Moreover, this may assist you in keeping a cool head even while you are experiencing mental anguish. It may also ensure that you don't speak or do anything you'll end up regretting. In particular, the calming tint of the Goldstone is very useful in this situation.

Goldstone at home and work

Take a piece of Goldstone with you on your next journey or trip abroad. Its powers will protect you from injury, disaster, or any catastrophe. When you use Goldstone accessories, you will draw prosperity, improve your enthusiasm, and balance your professional and personal balance.

Meditation with Goldstone

After working with your stone and integrating its energy into yours, you can use it to deepen your meditations. Use Blue Goldstone to focus on the purpose of your meditation and let it sink  you into your visualizing. The same goes for broadening your mind into more and more meditation-like experiences. Expanding your intuition, exploring lucid dreaming, and so many more!

Working on Relationships with Goldstone

Red Goldstone can be placed in the bedroom to spice up your love life or marriage, bringing that fiery passionate energy! You can also use Blue goldstone to deepen your communication and honesty with one another. Both can be used to work through many problems that we ourselves don’t have the energy to focus on.
